Description:
Portrait of good friend, artist, colleague and love, Gabriele Pane (AKA Not Your Muse). The artist spent years working with Muse on multiple art shows as well as Virtual Reality artwork concepts under one of her businesses, The Parallel, and a nonprofit that she Directs the arts department for, SUN Arts. During the Covid 19 Quarantine of 2019, Lucas conducted projects with MUSE, fabricating murals and fundraisers. During this time, the two would find themselves painting through late nights at the artist's studio, growing more ideas and relationships with friends they met from elected officials of Brooklyn, who would host their dinners and lead "Food Access" programs with them from the studio. During this time, many paintings were made, this portrait being one of them. This portrait landed itself an emblem of its time, being chosen to exhibit in the Quiet Lunch Magazine exhibition of art made during a time of sheer fear- pushing through for greatness. Later, in the next year, this same painting was exhibited in the NYC Art Movement"s gala in SOHO, NYC, following the artist's return from her residency in Mexico.
